This flexible solar cell can power your headphones and other devices
Amid global trends of integrating chargers for consumer convenience and the environment, a Swedish company is suggesting a completely cable-free solution.
Exeger has developed a patented solar-based technology that can be used for self-charging devices called Powerfoyle.
“We developed the fully printed solar cell, silicon-free, using only environmentally friendly materials,”
Powerfoyle uses thin and inexpensive dye-sensitized solar cells, which are “non-toxic, printed, flexible and durable,” according to the company.
By printing a liquid filled with solar cells, a solar panel can fit into virtually any device in any size and shape. Accessor’s machines, for example, aim to print a solar cell band that can be attached to a pair of headphones.
